Ben Deakin’s Pursuit of Better

Ben Deakin is a former Royal Marine Commando turned professional mountain biker. Years spent in the military built the physical resilience, discipline, and ability to operate under fatigue that now shape how he rides, trains, and approaches his sport.

Since transitioning to life on two wheels, Ben has built a reputation for creative lines, big days in the mountains, and a strong connection to the riding community. Filming projects, constant travel, and time spent racing at the sharp end of the sport have given him a clear understanding of what pro mountain biking truly demands from the body.

From the outside, Ben’s life can look like freedom. Long days riding in wild places, chasing lines with mates, and doing what he loves. What sits behind that freedom is preparation. Mountain biking is relentless, asking for consistency, resilience, and control day after day. Without the physical capacity to back it up, the lifestyle quickly falls apart.

Ben is not defined by being the fastest or the most stylish rider on the hill. His edge is reliability. The ability to turn up again and again. To ride all day, film all day, travel, dig trails, crash, get back up, and still drop into another run with intent. That durability does not happen by chance. It is built through dedication.

This is Ben Deakin’s Pursuit of Better.
