Yes. BLK BOX squat racks are ideal for both home and commercial settings, offering customisable features to fit any space and training scenario.
What attachments can I add to a BLK BOX squat rack?
You can add a wide range of attachments including pull‑up/dip bars, landmine attachments, weight plate storage pegs, cable systems, safety arms, and more.
Can I upgrade or expand the rack later on?
Absolutely. BLK BOX squat racks are modular and designed to accept upgrades or additional bays, allowing you to expand your setup as your needs evolve.
Can these squat racks be used in commercial gyms?
Yes. BLK BOX squat racks are specified to commercial‑grade standards and are used in professional training facilities and gyms.
Is a squat rack safer than using a bench alone or a free‑standing barbell setup?
Yes. A squat rack adds an internal cage or taller uprights and spotting arms, enabling you to train heavy with more confidence even without a spotter present.
Which squat rack should I buy for a garage gym?
For a garage gym, shortlist the rack by ceiling height, floor space and whether you can use permanent fixings. The 1 Series is the main compact option for home and garage gyms, with folding, half, freestanding and compact racks. If you cannot bolt down a rack, the 1 Series Squat Stand has a self-stabilising base for normal use.
What is the difference between a half rack and a full power rack?
A half rack keeps the lifting area open at the front and uses a shallower frame, making it easier to fit into tighter training spaces. A full power rack surrounds the lifting area with four uprights, giving you more enclosed working space, two-sided attachment options and a stronger base for integrated storage or cable upgrades.
Can I use a squat rack with my ceiling height?
Yes, but compare the rack height with the lowest ceiling obstruction, not just the nominal room height. 1 and 3 Series racks are commonly available at 2.2m or 2.4m, while 5 Series uses 2.3m or 2.5m options; lower 1 series models are also designed for height-restricted spaces.
Which safety arms and attachments fit my rack?
Attachment compatibility is series-specific. Use the rack model and series first, then select matching 1, 3 or 5 Series safeties, J-Hooks, storage pegs, dip stations, cable systems and other attachments. Do not assume an attachment from another series or an older generation will fit without checking the product compatibility.
Does this squat rack need to be bolted to the floor?
It depends on the rack. Some freestanding racks are self-stabilising, while others require anchoring. The Freestanding Racks do not need floor bolts for normal use, but bolts are recommended for suspension training and rings; 5 Series racks must be bolted to the wall or floor for safe use.
Which rack components are included in the advertised price?
Included components vary by rack. Check the exact specification for the J-Hooks, pull-up bars, safeties, storage and fixings supplied with the chosen configuration. For example, the 1 Series Half Racks includes Utility J-Hooks but does not include spotting arms or utility pegs as standard.
What barbell length will fit between this rack's uprights?
Check the clear internal width between uprights and the distance between the barbell collars before pairing a bar with a rack. Standard 7ft Olympic barbells are the simplest match for full-size BLK BOX racks; shorter bars need to be checked specifically because some compact bars are not wide enough to rack safely.
Are safeties included or do I need to purchase them separately?
Safeties are model-specific and are not included with every rack. Check the exact product contents before ordering and add compatible spotting arms, straps or other safety equipment where required rather than assuming they are supplied as standard.
Can I add plate storage without obstructing the lifting area?
Yes, selected racks support integrated or add-on plate storage. Allow enough clearance to load and remove plates without interfering with the bar path or bench position; on relevant 3 and 5 Series configurations, allow 300mm from the wall on either side of stored plates.
Can this rack be converted into a rack-and-cable system later?
Yes, selected racks can be upgraded into rack-and-cable systems. 1 Series has Compact and Full Rack Cable Column Kits, while 3 and 5 Series can be expanded with NEXUS upgrade kits. Confirm the exact rack model and generation before ordering the cable upgrade.
What access and assembly space are needed to install this rack?
Measure the complete access route before delivery: doorway width and height, stairs, corners, lifts and the final assembly area. Many BLK BOX racks are delivered flat-packed, which helps with restricted access, but you still need enough room to assemble the uprights, crossmembers and attachments safely in the final position.
Which rack configuration suits repeated use in a PT studio?
For a PT studio, choose a rack that matches your client flow as well as the available space. 1 Series works well for compact studios and rapid installation; 3 Series adds modularity, integrated cable options and broader customisation for growing commercial use; 5 Series is better suited where elite performance, precise spacing or advanced testing attachments are required.
Do you have a wall mounted squat rack?
Yes. The 1 Series Folding Rack fixes to a solid wall and folds flat, so the space can be used for something else between sessions, such as a garage or spare room. For cable work, the 1 Series Wall Mounted Cable Rack is a permanent wall fixing with a 120kg stack and a 2:1 pulley ratio. The 3 and 5 Series Nexus Wall Mounted Racks also have a 120kg stack as standard and a 2:1 pulley ratio, on 70x70x3mm and 80x80x3mm uprights. Browse all folding racks.
Buying Guide
How to choose a squat rack
Before you buy a squat rack, check four things: size, where you lift, hole spacing and cables.
Measure depth and height
The 1 Series Compact Rack fits squat and pull-up stations into a 2m x 0.6m footprint, and the 1 Series Full Rack needs 0.9m of depth. The 5 Series Full Rack is 1.9m deep. The 1 Series Compact, Half and Full Racks come in 2.2m or 2.4m, and the 5 Series Half, Compact and Full Racks in 2.3m or 2.5m: choose on ceiling height and pull-up clearance.
Power racks and safeties
The 3 and 5 Series Power Racks have a larger footprint for lifting inside the rack, with safety straps as standard on the 3 Series Power Rack and safety arms on the 5 Series Power Rack.
Hole spacing
The 1 Series Compact, Full and Half Racks use 75mm hole spacing. The 5 Series uses Westside spacing at 37.5mm and 75mm, for tighter increments around the sticking point. The 3 Series compact, half and full racks share 70x70x3mm uprights with 4-way numbered spacing, so attachments move between them.
Check cable compatibility
The 3 and 5 Series Power Racks do not take Cable Columns or Nexus Kits. Nexus Upgrade Kits for 3 and 5 Series compact and full racks add cable functionality to a rack you already own, with a 120kg stack as standard. The 1 Series Compact Rack with Cable Columns has dual 120kg stacks and a 2:1 pulley ratio on 60x60x3mm steel.
