Inside the build transforming Loughborough's Powerbase into a high-performance university gym environment designed to support every athlete, including the UK's leading para-sport talent.

Loughborough University is reshaping what an elite training space can be. Powerbase is already one of the most respected facilities in the UK, home to Olympians, professional squads and emerging talent across multiple sports. The ambition behind this next phase was simple: to create a training environment that removes barriers for para-athletes while elevating performance standards for everyone who walks through the doors.
Wider access routes, fully accessible storage, adaptable kit and intelligently planned layouts, with visual cues and touch points for visually-impaired athletes, were all part of a complete rethink of how high-performance centres should function. And who they should serve.
