Fitness Park and BLK BOX Redefine Hybrid Training

Three miles southwest of Paris, Fitness Park Malakoff is one of a number of clubs set to be reimagined as part of a partnership between Fitness Park and strength equipment specialist BLK BOX.
Fitness Park Group operates more than 400 owned and franchised clubs across mainland France, as well as Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium and Morocco and its brief to BLK BOX was focused and future-driven.
The goal was to create a scalable hybrid training zone that would be Hyrox-ready, while remaining flexible enough to adapt to emerging training trends, including ATHX, functional bodybuilding and other forms of hybrid training.
The aim was to create a high-performance environment where members could train with real intent, whether preparing for their first competitive event, building a serious strength base or simply improving their overall health and fitness. The concept also needed to work across Fitness Park locations with a wide variety of formats and footprints.
Building a flexible model
Working together, Fitness Park and BLK BOX refined the concept and overall offering, creating a training zone that combines weight training, cardio, Hyrox preparation and group exercise in a modern, spacious environment.
The new Fitness Park concept includes custom turf and flooring, BLK BOX 3 Series rigs, sleds and air bikes, as well as the Nexus functional trainer integration, configured to support pull-ups, gymnastics, squatting and cable work. The space also features a range of smaller functional training equipment and accessories, including custom wall-ball targets.
At Malakoff, BLK BOX has also introduced a number of its signature upgrades to create visual impact and reinforce the identity of the space, including stainless steel racks and custom-branded plates carrying the Fitness Park colours and logo. These include a new dual-grip plate which is currently being tested.
Designing for flow
Another hallmark of the concept is custom-built storage, designed to keep the training space uncluttered and maintain good flow between areas supporting different styles of training.
BLK BOX founder Greg Bradley says the Fitness Park team was closely involved throughout.
“The Fitness Park team has been heavily involved throughout the concept development and the mobilisation period. They’re very product-focused and place a lot of importance on the quality of the member offering.
“Their product team has been closely involved in developing and refining the equipment and layouts with us, which has made it a very collaborative partnership.”
Minimising downtime is also a consideration. BLK BOX plans unloading, construction and equipment installation to get each training zone operational as quickly as possible.
Fitness Park’s project management team also has a detailed understanding of the estate, helping to make the logistics and installation process relatively seamless.
A shared training philosophy
Florent Williamson, concept manager at Fitness Park, says: “Fitness Park has always aimed to deliver the best possible fitness experience, accessible to everyone, while embracing new trends and ways of training.
“In line with our tagline, ‘Se dépasser, se surpasser’ – to push beyond and surpass yourself – we share a common DNA with BLK BOX. This partnership has allowed us to build a flexible, scalable concept across our locations, providing members with a high-quality environment tailored to functional and hybrid training.”
BLK BOX will also support Fitness Park with its annual Fitness Park Heroes competition, which begins in Q3 2026 and culminates in a final in 2027.
Bradley says: “With regional qualifiers taking place in clubs, it will be a good opportunity to see the new functional spaces being used in a live competition environment.”
Ready to roll out
With the Malakoff site complete, the focus is turning to rolling out the concept across more clubs, while retaining the quality, flexibility and identity developed at the Paris site.
Bradley says: “Fitness Park delivers a premium training environment where members can build strength, develop conditioning and prepare for competition with confidence.
“By combining durable equipment, considered layout design and expert installation, the partnership between BLK BOX and Fitness Park has created a space that reflects Fitness Park’s performance standards and ambitions.”
