2020 Year Roundup

2020 Year Roundup

A LOOK AT THE YEAR GONE BY...

2020 was undeniably full of new challenges, experiences, and opportunities for us all. Now that the BLK BOX team are taking a well-earned break, we thought it would be a good time to look back at one of the most challenging, yet rewarding years to date.

As we saw gyms being forced to close, the demand for home gym equipment virtually doubled overnight. We are thrilled to have kitted out over 500 home gyms across the UK, Europe and beyond, alongside designing and installing new High-Performance facilities for Aston Villa Football Club and Bristol Bears Rugby.

To keep up with demand, we welcomed new team members, expanded our manufacturing and distribution facilities by 10,000 sq ft, invested in 4 new manufacturing machines, which will dramatically reduce our lead times in 2021, and introduced two 40ft lorries to our delivery fleet.

Our engineering team has been working hard to bring new products to market with some of the quickest lead times in the industry. We are proud to introduce the BLK BOX Utility Range, which consists of squat stands, quarter racks, half racks, power racks and wall mounted rigs, which can all be dispatched and delivered in  3-5 working days. Our highly sought-after Binary Foldaway Rack was also re-designed and re-introduced just in time for Christmas.

With there being a surge in screen time during 2020, reports show adults using their devices for more than 40 percent of the waking day. With that, we saw an opportunity to launch the BLK BOX App making shopping online more convenient. We too have been working in the background to bring you the BLK BOX Gym Designer; which you can check out here.

This year, if nothing else has shown us the importance of helping others and the profound effect that exercise has on our health, both physically and mentally. We were proud to partner with two charities, Healthy Kidz and Battle Cancer, both of which are doing incredible work that we are thrilled to be supporting.

The BLK BOX Athletes have also had an extremely busy and successful year. Emma McQuaid did herself and everyone in BLK BOX proud as she finished up as 19th fittest woman in the world after competing in the CrossFit Games 2020. BLK BOX athlete, Scott Britton has been working tirelessly with Battle Cancer to bring the City League competition to the UK which raised over £30,000 for cancer charities.

As we see 2020 come to an end, we would like to thank all our clients and friends for their continued supportand wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
