We are proud to announce our new partnership with Battle Cancer, the world’s leading functional fitness fundraising event series. Their mission is to inspire, support and unite people with one goal; kicking cancer into the dust. Since 2017, Battle Cancer has raised over £500,000 for almost 40 different cancer charities worldwide, helped by nearly 5,000 athletes.
“Many of our staff and friends have been affected by cancer in some way or another, so we are honoured to be partnered with a company who make it their goal to use fitness to help improve the lives of those affected by cancer." -Catherine McLaughlin, Marketing Manager BLK BOX.
Battle Cancer created the Move Forward Program, a global initiative that will create a network of educated health professionals to serve those during or post-cancer treatment. The concept of the program is aimed at turning cancer survivors into fitness coaches.
The Program provides a support system and structure for young adults to take control of their own lives and adapt mentally and physically to their life after treatment. Battle Cancer partners with a local box and offers 10 weeks of CrossFit classes to cancer survivors in the community. Classes are offered at off-hours and the athletes’ expenses are covered to get to/from classes.
At the end of the training, Battle Cancer picks two participants and sends him/her to a Level 1 CrossFit Certification course, enabling them to teach the next wave of cancer survivors on the program.

Joining forces ahead of the UK City League this October, we will be powering Battle Cancer through the rest of 2020 and into next year as they kickstart fundraising post-COVID.
Offering up a money-can’t-buy prize for Battle Cancer’s UK City League, one winning team of four will fly to Belfast for a behind the scenes glimpse of BLK BOX’s HQ in the iconic Titanic quarter. As well as the chance to train in our showroom gym and tour our HQ and workshop and design, engineer and fabricate their own personalised piece of kit to take home. Battle Cancer’s UK City League will take place on 12-24th October this year across five UK cities in place of its postponed Manchester and London events.
Founder and Director of Battle Cancer, Scott Britton said:
“With the power of BLK BOX behind us, we have the ability to fill a void of fundraising that has seen charities lose over £200 million in the UK alone during COVID. With over 15 mini-events across the UK, you can share, fundraise and join a group of people that have felt the impact of cancer.”
