Designed to set new standards in sports medicine, rehabilitation and performance, the Sports Surgery Clinic's Sports Medicine Centre combines cutting-edge technology with world-class training facilities to support every stage of the recovery journey.
Located in Santry, Dublin, the Sports Surgery Clinic (SSC) is internationally recognised for the treatment of orthopaedic, spinal, sports and exercise-related injuries. As part of its continued investment in patient care, research and innovation, SSC developed a purpose-built 10,000 sq ft Sports Medicine Centre, bringing biomechanics, rehabilitation and strength training together within one integrated environment.
Working closely with the SSC team over almost three years, BLK BOX helped design and deliver one of Europe's most advanced rehabilitation and performance facilities. Every element of the space was carefully considered to create an environment that supports clinicians, researchers and patients through every stage of assessment, recovery and return to performance.
The strength and conditioning area features eight custom BLK BOX training racks with shared storage and bespoke inlaid lifting platforms, creating an efficient and highly functional training space. Two of the platforms incorporate integrated force plates and video feedback technology, enabling practitioners to accurately assess movement, monitor rehabilitation progress and make evidence-based decisions throughout the recovery process.
To complement the facility, we installed more than 180 square metres of custom rubber flooring and Agility Turf, designed to reflect the clinic's branding while providing a durable, high-performance training surface. A Keiser six-station functional training system supports multi-user rehabilitation sessions, while a dedicated sprint track and recessed Woodway treadmills create a seamless environment for gait analysis, conditioning and return-to-running protocols.
The completed Sports Medicine Centre represents a benchmark for modern rehabilitation facilities, bringing together clinical expertise, advanced technology and premium strength equipment within one purpose-built space. Today, it continues to support thousands of patients each year, helping athletes and active individuals recover with confidence and return to performance safely.
