BLK BOX x Leeds University Gryphon's centre now open!
A new state-of-the-art strength and conditioning centre has officially opened at the University of Leeds. The new facility, unveiled last week, will be home to University's’ clubs and performance athletes, the Leeds Gryphons.
BLK BOX, in collaboration with the university, reimagined the space, and were integral in designing, manufacturing, and installing a functional training centre that would meet the ever-evolving needs of the students and athletes on campus.
The Gryphon’s new home sees eight Goliath Full Racks lining the iconic green walls and is equipped with a wide range of attachments for a versatile, customisable, and comprehensive training experience.
It’s hoped that the sizeable investment reflects the University's commitment to student wellbeing and athletic development, positively enhancing the higher education journey for each of their students.
Suzanne Glavin, Head of Sport at the University of Leeds said: “The development and refurbishment of our facilities will hugely enhance the offer and experience here at Leeds. By upgrading our facilities, we can further support our incredibly talented athletes and provide our knowledgeable staff with spaces that allow them to deliver the best possible training.”
The new strength and conditioning centre officially opened on Wednesday 31st January as part of a campus development initiative to improve the facilities, enabling students to reach their full sporting potential.
We’re proud to have worked with the University of Leeds on their new training space and are excited to witness their continued success and growth in the future!
