After having huge success with Boundary CrossFit in Lisburn, owners Stuart Briggs and Dave Adams are thrilled to open Boundary CrossFit 2.0. Located in Belfast Harbour, the new 5,000 square foot space didn’t always look this good. Just months ago this space resembled a building site and after knocking down walls, blocking up doors, building new staircases and a lot of black paint and hard work later, it has been transformed into a facility that all gym owners would envy.
The project was completed during lockdown which made it very difficult to plan the launch of their new facility. With no date given by the government for when gyms could reopen, Stuart and Dave were flying blind, not knowing when they would be opening. Fortunately, restrictions lift on 30th April, just a few weeks after project completion so they didn't have to wait too long to show off their new venue.
Walking through the front door, it's clear that every detail has been carefully considered. From their social chill-out area equipped with coffee machines, fridges, snacks and seating areas, to the changing rooms, showers and the gym itself, everything has been designed to the highest quality.
Although this venue is smaller than their Lisburn venue, Stuart and Dave both agree the space has been utilised better and have fitted in more equipment. The layout lends itself perfectly for running CrossFit classes without interfering with the open gym area and coaching. Within the main class area, there is a 6 Bay Samson Wall Mounted Rig with BLK BOX Utility Rings, Wall Ball Targets and Pull Up Bars. The 12 Bay Goliath Free Standing Rig takes centre stage, again enhanced with wall ball targets, pull up bars and gym rings, making this an ideal CrossFit training facility. As well as their rigs, there is an extensive conditioning area with Concept Ski-ergs, Rowers and an Agility Turf Track for Dog Sleds.
It was important to Stuart and Dave that the facility had storage for all their equipment to ensure an organised and tidy training environment. They opted for the Basecamp Storage Racks for BLK BOX Hex Dumbbells, BLK BOX Cast Iron Kettlebells, BLK BOX Wall Balls and BLK BOX Wall Mounted Mat Hangers for BLK BOX Exercise Mats.
