Inside the Build: Fit & Food
Fit & Food Arch is a boutique training space in Chiswick, London, offering semi private personal training and small group classes rooted in expert coaching, strong community, and considered design.

BLK BOX partnered with Fit & Food to design and equip a space that supports high quality coaching while remaining approachable and inclusive, creating an environment built for performance, connection, and sustainable progress.
The Vision

Fit & Food set out to create a space where coaching comes first. The aim was to build an environment where members feel supported, recognised, and trained with purpose, regardless of experience level.
The facility needed to support semi private coaching and small group training while allowing for individualised programming within a shared training environment.
The Build
The gym was designed to deliver 4:1 semi private personal training alongside small group classes capped at 12 members. The layout prioritise open floor space, allowing coaches to move freely, provide hands-on guidance, and maintain a high standard of coaching without compromising member comfort or confidence.

At the centre of the space is a bespoke 3 Series Compact Nexus Rack with integrated storage, designed specifically to support Fit & Food’s training model. The unit is highly versatile, accommodating storage, strength training, and cable based resistance work. This keeps the gym efficient and organised while freeing up valuable floor space for movement focused sessions.

Opposite this sits a second 3 Series Compact Rack with integrated storage, fitted with Mounted Wall Ball Targets, a Climbing Rope, and Competition Gym Rings. Together, the rigs form the backbone of the gym, enabling structured strength work, scalable conditioning, and coached group training within a clean, uncluttered layout.

Strength equipment including Barbells, Rubber Hex Dumbbells, Wall Balls, HD Bumper Plates, Competition Kettlebells, and Rack Attachments is stored directly on the rigs. This allows equipment to be accessed quickly during sessions, supporting smooth transitions between strength, conditioning, and movement based work.
We equipped the entire facility with 5 Series Adjustable Benches, Soft 3 in 1 Plyo Boxes, HIIT Mats, Battle Ropes, Challenger Gym Tiles and custom Fit & Food Lifting Platforms, alongside conditioning staples including the Concept2 SkiErg and Rower, Assault Air Bike, and Assault Air Runner.
Equipment selection focused on versatility, durability, and scalability. This gives coaches the flexibility to adapt sessions to individual needs while maintaining a cohesive group training experience. This setup supports goal specific, progressive training across both semi private and group formats, while accommodating a wide range of abilities.
The Result

The finished space reflects the Fit & Food philosophy in both feel and function. The gym supports a coaching-led experience where members receive a high level of attention, clarity, and care, whether training in a semi private or small group setting.
Members train in an environment that feels calm and organised. The efficient layout and integrated storage keep the space uncluttered, allowing sessions to flow smoothly and reducing distractions. This helps members focus on movement quality, confidence, and consistency rather than navigating a busy gym floor.
The versatility of the setup allows Fit & Food to deliver progressive, long term training that evolves with each individual. From building strength and capacity to supporting recovery and return to training, the space adapts to changing needs over time.
