‘A gym built for fun, optimised for everybody’
The Ministry is a 50,000 sqft warehouse converted into London's ‘best workspace’. It is the latest venture from Ministry of Sound, which opened in Borough in July 2018. Set within a beautiful Victorian warehouse, it’s a stunning shared office space and private members club. From one-person start ups to scale-ups of 200, The Ministry supports creatives, accountants, lawyers and many more.
We had the pleasure of working alongside Kate Corfield, ‘Head of Fitness Development’ at Ministry of Sound, on developing the centrepiece of their new gym – A BLK BOX Custom Samson Rig to include cable columns, a smith machine and monkey bars, as well as built in storage solutions. The rig was multi purpose, creating a dynamic and open ended training tool. The refurbishment of the space saw it double in size, with a ‘no one supplier-fits -all’ approach, cherry picking the supply chain and ensuring the best equipment for their members.
“A big thank you to every supplier who's worked alongside me (probably more closely than you would've liked at times) and supported my vision, overcame hurdles, entertained my last minute changes, taught me loads and ultimately made this a reality in what has to be the speediest refurb project in the history of gym refurbs”, Kate Corfield ‘Head of Fitness Development’ at Ministry of Sound.
The new space will operate as an ‘open gym’ but with a class vibe twist – with mood lighting, pumping music and a real dancefloor atmosphere.
"With Kate’s input and our expertise, we delivered a multi-faceted piece of training equipment, equipped to satisfy any athlete. This is a very special and unique piece of custom equipment – It’s the centrepiece of the training facility, designed and manufactured at BLK BOX HQ. This rack exemplifies so much more than just a squat rack; it embodies all that is good about BLK BOX and our ability to deliver to our clients very specific facilities and training requirements", Connor Gough Business Development Manager, BLK BOX.
