BLK BOX Kit Out for Move Forward Gym
BLK BOX are delighted to be kitting out a brand new 3,000 sq ft premium functional fitness gym for Move Forward Gym, in Exeter. The gym which is due to open it’s doors in October this year, is founded by our partners at Battle Cancer and will see the team be able to apply their passion for fitness into overall wellness for their members.
Battle Cancer set up the Move Forward Program, a global initiative that will create a network of educated health professionals to serve those during or post cancer treatment. The concept of the program is aimed at turning cancer survivors into fitness coaches.
The Move Forward Gym has been inspired by this program. Founder, Scott Britton said:
“Move Forward Gym has been designed to be premium, accessible and affordable, with every small detail and decision being based on our members and how to support people through fitness and community. Our collective goal is to use fitness as a tool for mental and physical recovery for all.”
When designing the gym, it was important to the Battle Cancer team that the equipment in the Move Forward gym was high quality and extremely functional. After visiting BLK BOX HQ in August, Battle Cancer spent time in our showroom gym, manufacturing, warehouse and had the chance to see, touch and use our equipment, allowing them to hand pick the products they wanted to build their dream facility.
With the help and guidance of the BLK BOX team, they have chosen some of our best sellers including dumbbells, kettlebells, bumper plates, barbells, slam balls, wall balls, plyo boxes, sandbags, flooring and a custom built rig.
The gym will be offering free memberships to NHS patient referrals and will be offering a special program for those in post-cancer recovery. Drawing on the disciplines of functional fitness, Move Forward Gym will be offering a range of fitness classes including speciality skills such as Gymnastics, Weightlifting and Conditioning, along with its own unique brand of accessible classes.
