Inside the Build: Gladiator Training

Located in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, Gladiator Training NI is a 12,000 square feet, spacious CrossFit facility developed in partnership with BLK BOX.

More than a gym, it’s a community hub where people come together to train, connect, and work towards their goals. Alongside CrossFit, the facility offers HYROX, weightlifting, British Functional Fitness, yoga, and physiotherapy.

The Upgrade

Gladiator Training has refreshed their space with an upgrade centred around a new rig and storage solutions, designed to elevate their CrossFit training environment. The goal was to create a setup that supports both performance and practicality while enhancing the overall look and flow of the gym.

At the centre of the facility is a custom 3 Series Free Standing Rig, paired with a custom Free Standing High Bar Rig, delivering the ideal setup for CrossFit-style training, gymnastics, and strength work.

Storage and organisation were key focuses throughout the project. A custom Functional Storage System (0.4m, 6 Bay) was installed, featuring integrated wall ball targets, bumper plate shelving, and dumbbell storage. This tailored solution keeps the space organised and efficient while preserving the clean, premium look of the facility.

The Result

The upgrade has transformed Gladiator Training NI into a more efficient and functional space that better serves both coaches and members. The new rig setup has streamlined training sessions, improving versatility, class flow, and accessibility, with more members able to use the rig simultaneously during both classes and open gym times.

With the addition of the custom storage system, the gym floor now feels more open and organised, improving safety and accessibility while maintaining a professional, high-performance aesthetic. The refreshed layout not only enhances the overall training experience but also reflects Gladiator Training’s commitment to continual improvement and providing the best possible environment for their community.
