Ron McKeefery (Fresno State Football - Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Performance):
Presentation title: Developing a Winning S&C Culture.
Internationally recognised as a leader in the area of sports development, Ron McKeefery has twice been named Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. Prior to becoming the Assistant Athletics Director for Fresno State University, Coach McKeefery served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at both the Professional and Collegiate level. Working with such professional organisations as the: Cincinnati Bengals (NFL), Kansas City Royals (MLB), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL) and the Berlin Thunder (NFL Europe), and collegiate programs such as: Eastern Michigan University, University of Tennessee, and the University of South Florida. He also served as the Vice President of Performance and Education for PLAE, where he worked with elite athletes and coaches around the world. Ron is the author of the #1 Amazon International Bestseller(s) "CEO Strength Coach" and "Weight Room Wisdom" and is a highly sought after industry speaker.
Dr. Adam Beard (Chicago Cubs - Director of High-Performance):
Presentation title: The High Performance Pathway.
Adam is the current Director of High Performance at the Chicago Cubs, a role he took on in January 2019. Prior to his move to the Cubs, Adam was the NFL’s first Director of High Performance when he joined the Cleveland Browns in 2015. Adam has a stellar CV, having worked as Head of Performance for the Welsh Rugby Union and British and Irish Lions before moving to the United States. Adam has more than 20 years of industry experience in overseeing the integration and management of a collaborative approach to all aspects of training, conditioning, mental skills, nutrition, sport science and beyond.
Julian Jones (Australian Institute of Sport - Performance Service Manager):
Presentation title: The Interview Insider.
Julian is currently the Performance Services Manager at the Australian Institute of Sport but was previously the Head of the Strength & Conditioning at the AIS since 1999. Prior to joining the AIS he was the Australian Weightlifting Federation’s Coaching Director and the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games – Competition Director for Weightlifting. In his current position he leads a team of twenty-three staff that are responsible for the provision of specialist support to sports that utilise the AIS campus in Canberra to optimise performance outcomes for their camps.
Jarrod Wade (South Sydney Rabbitohs - Head of High Performance):
Presentation title: Conditioning the Intermittent Team Sports Athlete.
Jarrod is currently Head of High Performance for South Sydney Rabbitohs after previously working as Head of Strength and Rehab at the Rabbitohs and Parramatta Eels in the NRL since 2016. Prior to the NRL, Jarrod worked for 8 years in the AFL, as a strength and rehabilitation coach for Essendon from 2012-2015, and performance analyst for Geelong from 2007-2011.
Kevin Geary (Bristol Bear - Head of Athletic Performance):
Presentation title: "Building Your Program" - What you do and why you are doing it.
Kevin is currently the Head of Athletic Performance for Bristol Bears competing in the English Premiership. He has extensive experience working in club and international rugby having previously led the strength program for the Ulster senior rugby team, as well as spending 3 seasons at Munster rugby and being heavily involved with numerous Irish international teams. Kevin holds a degree in Business & Sport from CIT and an MSc in Sports Science from UCD.
Ryan Whitley (Brisbane Broncos - Strength and Power Coach):
Presentation title: Impact the Game.
Ryan has been a Strength and Conditioning Coach working across multiple organisations and professional sports for the last 10 years. Previous roles include Sports Institute Northern Ireland (boxing, , Cardiff Blues (Rugby Union) and his current role as Strength and Power Coach for the Brisbane Broncos.
Dr. Michael Rennie (Sydney Swans - Conditioning Coach):
Presentation title: Research Frontiers in Professional Sport.
Michael is currently in his 9th year as Conditioning Coach at the Sydney Swans Football Club. He currently coordinates the rehabilitation and sport science practices at the club. Prior to working at the Sydney Swans, Michael was the Sport Scientist for AFL NSW/ACT Umpires. Michael has also lectured at university and TAFE for over 10 years. Michael holds a PhD in Exercise & Sport Science from the University of Technology, Sydney which he completed in 2017.
Dr. Steve Kelly (Sydney Swans - Academy Head Strength and Conditioning Coach):
Presentation title: The Physical Development of Junior Australian Footballers: 'An Inside View'.
Steve has been working in strength and conditioning for 10 years, working with youth and senior athletes. Steve has gained experience in sports science and strength and conditioning in both rugby league (Sydney Roosters) and Australian rules football (Sydney Swans). Additionally, Steve has undertaking honours and PhD research projects through the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), while gaining practical knowledge within both sporting codes. Currently Steve is working as the head of strength and conditioning with Sydney Swans Academy and as an assistant strength and conditioning coach within the Sydney Swans senior football team.
Janina Strauts (Olympic Winter Institute of Australia - Physical Preparation Coach):
Presentation title: “Breaking it Down” - The Needs Analysis.
Janina is currently working as a strength and conditioning coach at the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia. Prior to this she was a strength and conditioning coach at the Australian Institute of Sport for a number of years working with various individual and team sport athletes.
Jack Milligan (South Sydney Rabbitohs - Strength and Power Coach):
Presentation title: Plyometrics: From Theory to Practise.
Jack is currently working as a Strength & Power Coach at the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Prior to working at Souths, Jack was the Strength and Power Coach for the 1st Team squad at Leicester City FC in the English Premier League. Having studied at Loughborough University, Jack has also worked with the University of Sydney and, more recently, the English Football Association.
Kellyanne Redman (Brisbane Broncos - Assistant Strength Coach):
Presentation title: The PhD Pathway: High Performance Strength Diagnostic Research.
Kellyanne Redman is currently a PhD student/ Assistant Strength Coach/ Strength Scientist at The Brisbane Broncos Rugby League Club and through The University of Queensland. Kellyanne has been honing her craft and working in rugby league across all levels, from the grassroots to the elite, since 2013. While completing her Masters of Research, Kellyanne worked with Cronulla Sharks Women’s squads, Westfield Sports High Talented Sport Program and the Emerging NRL Referees Program until she secured her current position where she has been for the last two and half years.
