Inside the Build: Brigade Fitness

Brigade Fitness is home to two personal training facilities, built from a passion project during Covid-19 that rapidly evolved into one of Kent’s leading fitness experiences.

BLK BOX partnered with Brigade Fitness to bring their concept to life, combining their ambition with our expertise to create a facility designed for performance, progression and community.

The Vision

Brigade wanted a space that matched their ethos:

  • No mirrors

  • No intimidation

  • No egos

Just focused, effective training.

The goal was to build a facility where members feel supported regardless of experience level. From complete beginners to seasoned gym users, every session is designed to maximise time, improve performance and build confidence.

The Build Priorities

From the outset, three priorities shaped the layout and equipment selection:

1. Clear space

Members need room to move safely and confidently. Whether lifting, carrying, jumping or performing gymnastic work, open floor space was essential.

2. Efficient storage

Clutter kills flow. Integrated storage ensures plates, bars and accessories are organised and accessible without disrupting sessions.

3. Versatility

Every square metre had to work hard. The space needed to support strength training, conditioning circuits, functional fitness and gymnastic movements without compromise.

The Equipment Solution

To bring this to life, Brigade invested in Custom 3 Series Nexus Compact Racks with integrated storage. This decision solved multiple challenges at once.

Integrated plate storage keeps bumper and change plates organised and off the floor, while the four tier storage system houses dumbbells, wall balls and kettlebells neatly within reach, creating a clean and efficient training environment that maintains flow during busy group sessions.

The rack design supports heavy compound lifts with confidence, while rack mounted Wall Ball Targets and Competition Rings add further versatility. Members can transition seamlessly from barbell strength work to gymnastic progressions without changing stations or interrupting the session.

Supporting equipment includes:

Every piece was selected with durability, function and progression in mind.

The Result

The finished space reflects everything Brigade stands for. Clean sightlines, clear walkways and intelligent storage create an environment that feels organised, professional and ready for work from the moment members walk in.

Coaches can deliver structured, high quality sessions without compromise, moving groups efficiently between strength, conditioning and gymnastic elements. Members train with confidence, knowing the layout supports both performance and safety.
