Speak To The Team

Across the UK, health and wellbeing are no longer viewed as optional extras. They are being built into the foundations of modern workplaces, shaping how companies support their teams and drive performance. One of the clearest signs of this shift is the rapid rise of office gyms.

Recent research from BLK BOX highlights just how quickly this is accelerating. Google searches for “offices with gyms” have surged by 2,366% over the past year, while demand for corporate gym builds has increased by almost 60% year on year. This is not just a passing trend. It signals a deeper change in how businesses think about productivity, culture and long term employee health.

ARNE Clothing recognised this early when planning their new headquarters. They approached BLK BOX with a clear ambition to integrate a high quality training space into their workplace.

The Vision

From the outset, ARNE understood that the gym needed to do more than simply exist within the building. It had to reflect their brand identity while delivering a functional, high performance training environment for their team.

The brief centred around three key priorities:

  • A clean, minimal aesthetic aligned with their HQ design and colour palette
  • Versatile equipment to support a wide range of training styles
  • A layout that encourages regular use, not just occasional sessions

This was about creating a space employees would genuinely want to use. Not an afterthought, but a core part of the workplace experience.

The Build

The final installation combined strength, conditioning and recovery elements, giving the ARNE team everything needed for well rounded training.

Key equipment included:

Every element was selected not only for performance, but for how it contributed to the overall look and feel of the gym. The result is a cohesive environment that mirrors ARNE’s brand while delivering serious training capability.

The Result

The finished space is more than just a gym. It is a reflection of ARNE’s approach to performance and culture.

By investing in a facility that supports strength, movement and recovery, they have created an environment that encourages employees to prioritise their health as part of the working day. This has the potential to improve not just physical wellbeing, but also energy levels, focus and long term resilience.

Office gyms like this represent a wider shift in workplace thinking. Companies are moving beyond surface level perks and towards meaningful investment in their people.

For ARNE, the outcome is a space that blends design and function seamlessly. A gym that feels like a natural extension of their brand, while delivering the tools their team needs to train with purpose.

As more businesses rethink what the workplace should offer, projects like this set the standard for what is possible when health and performance are treated as priorities rather than add ons.

Chris Hull, Business Development Manager, who led the design of ARNE’s workplace gym, said:

“Office gyms work best when they are built with real use in mind. It is not about filling a room with equipment, it is about creating a space that fits into people’s day and supports a variety of training styles. When you get that right, it becomes something employees rely on rather than something that just sits there.”
